Why “Unity” For Trump Should Have Started With Trump

Watch Donald Trump campaign and it will tell you a lot about how he intends to govern; as a narcissistic authoritarian.

Mayor Faulconer won’t endorse Trump for President while Trump is calling for unity.  What did Trump do when he came to San Diego?

Nothing.

Trump had an opportunity to lead the “unification” effort by ignoring Faulconer’s snub and talking about how important it was for San Diegans to re-elect the Mayor in June.  He had the platform last Friday at the Convention Center but didn’t do it.  He is either too stupid or too proud to understand that the “leader” of the Republican Party should rise above petty squabbles and sell unification by example.

New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez ain’t on board the Trump Train.  Trump criticized her performance as Governor.  When asked why he did so, he mentioned that she “needs to get with the program”

Trump isn’t a leader but I think he will be the next President.  Good luck America.

  1. No, unity should have started with the losers who can not win elections. Romney comes to mind. Paul Ryan dithering for weeks to endorse Trump, again ion that loser ticket.

  2. Why does Trump need to reach out to Falconer and the governor of New Mexico? They can not deliver wins for Trump. So what’s the point of reaching out to useless elected officials who can not deliver one iota of electoral votes. The party was unified behind Romey. Well that loser lost big time. I think sometimes Brian you need to think a little rational before you writing these fluf pieces. Just mad because Lying Ted did not win….sore loser.

“So what’s the point of reaching out to useless elected officials who can not deliver one iota of electoral votes”

To help build the Republican Party in San Diego and the State of California?

Silly me for thinking past November.

  4. There needs to be unity; it’s very important.

McConnell is on board; Priebus is on board; Ryan is on board. I want to make sure everyone gets on board, and we have it in writing.

No matter the outcome of the election, in the decades to come we want clarity that the (R) next to a name is synonymous with The Party of Trump. No coming back after the election and trying to disavow Trump and wipe his stink off the brand.

    Unity. Everyone on board.

  5. The GOP of California can not win statewide races. So what’s the point? Trump should not waste any energy uniting behind the CA Republican Party when in the end, it will not be decisive this November or any foreseeable future elections. Irrelevant for the past 30 years… So in short, this article about uniting behind the likes of Falconer is a waste of time.

  6. Brian,

“Mayor Faulconer won’t endorse Trump for President…”

Yet you believe that Trump should have endorsed Faulconer’s re-election bid. Seriously?

In the name of “unification,” is it really beholden on the candidate for the highest office to support everyone running for lesser offices even when those candidates do not support him, or isn’t it really the responsibility of those candidates to support the de-facto leader of the Party? I think you have your logic backward.

  7. I must say how fun it is to go into a organic food restaurant, or I-phone store wearing a Trump shirt. Waiters, customers give me bad looks or refuse to make eye contact while I am the most polite pleasant individual their could be. I have since become a bigger tipper. I look to convert with kindness. Good vibes.
