Nathan Fletcher recently had a Town Hall to discuss the need for greater transparency in government.
While the meeting’s focus was transparency, Nathan opted not to speak, but rather to have his team speak on his behalf. Effectively, he spoke through people, rather than be straightforward. The meeting itself was convoluted.
Nathan refused to answer questions. When asked a question by a member of the public, Nathan instructed him to fill out a form and stated he would email the answer “later.” The question has still not been answered. The member of the public was visibly upset and thrown off by this “procedure” as most candidates and elected officials take questions.
Has Nathan had issues with questions in the past? Maybe he’s uncomfortable with people bringing up his switch from the Republican to Independent to Democrat, or that alleged scandal from the 2018 election cycle.
