It’s not often the local Republican Party endorses against a sitting incumbent Republican. Yet, Steve Vaus pulled that one off a few months ago, getting the GOP nod in his effort to unseat Poway Mayor Don Higginson.
Vaus’ hard work continues to pay off, it appears…

Hard work and sticking to principles pays off. Steve Vaus is going to win by a large margin because he is:
1- is doing the hard work involved in a campaign: fund raising and securing key endorsements
2- bringing a positive vision to voters.
When business leaders, community leaders, elected officials, and volunteers all signal that a candidate’s vision is the right one, money follows that vision.
I want to see Vaus in that set over Don Higginson. Higginson has held that position way too long, he is a lame duck, does nothing for the community and the City is paying him way too much.
He just sits back and collects a paycheck. Adds nothing of value to our City. Kick (him) out.
