GOP Chairman Tony Krvaric was accused this weekend of keeping strangely mum on the SAFE – Call Box controversy brought to light recently by City Councilwoman Lorie Zapf.  The City Beat Guy ‘called out’ Mr. Krvaric in a tweet, asking  “Where were you on SD Safe?  Haven’t heard a peep from you calling on Republicans Roberts and Kulchin to stop taxing.”

This statement  surprises the hundreds who saw Krvaric on Monday, when he  publicly praised Lorie Zapf  for her efforts exposing these problems and gave her the coveted  “Defender of the Taxpayer” award to thunderous cheers from the Republican Party of San Diego meeting.  The plaque, signed by Krvaric on behalf of the SD-GOP, is given for fighting “waste, fraud and abuse” and includes the controversial elephant logo.

The City Beat Guy’s pointed question can also be read here.  Don’t know why he was so irate.
