  1. Let’s see if there any other veterans who should have been chosen before Lorena’s boyfriend. Anyone?

  2. Imagine the horrible post traumatic stress syndrome he must have from having to do what he had to do to earn this award.
And on top of that he was in the military.

  3. The headline should instead be:
“Lorena Gonzalez taps Nathan Fletcher as Veteran of the Year”

  4. Poor Lorena, you now you have to defend your stupid decision with a stupid facebook post. http://tinyurl.com/no-show-fletcher
The reason people are upset by your decision is two fold, you gave it to a guy who you are “dating”, and there are hundreds if not thousands of far more worthy veterans you could have chosen. Decisions have consequences Lorena.

  5. Maybe Nathan can show his undeserved award with Obama and Obama can show Nathan his nobel peace prize.

  6. Lorena says, in defense of her selection, “…there is a long line of assemblymembers who have picked husbands, wives, fathers, mothers and other relatives for recognition.”

Yes, but Nathan wasn’t available as husband of the year.

  7. So Lorena’s defense is “Everybody is doing it.” Pathetic.

But she could do us all a favor and list the names of the state legislators and their relatives who “won” these formal accolades. Doubtless we’d find them in both parties, so her expose’ would be bipartisan in nature.

Or should be. Why do I think she’d cite only Republican transgressors?

Shining some light on this smarmy practice would bring much needed internal legislative reforms.

    BAWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  8. I’m just happy to hear that Nathan is finally in a “committed” relationship…according to her.

  9. Eye Roll, ‘committed’ until it’s convenient to move to another ‘opportunity’ that arises…..wink

  10. this explains in one post how California is in such trouble if this “person” is part of our leadership…..OH MY
