Thanks to Vince Vasquez for the tip. To quote Vince from his Twitter post, “SurveyUSA polling data shows 66% of San Diegans oppose sales tax hike, even when tied to vague promises of reform.”

The main drawback to this poll is that it sampled the
“San Diego DMA”… …..that means the “Designated
Market Area”, and that covers the entire COUNTY
of San Diego.
Only people in the CITY of San Diego will VOTE on this
sales tax. not the whole county. It’s probable only about
225 of the 500 interviews in this poll were with people
living in the CITY of SD.
This is a mistake some pollsters have made in San
Diego going back to the 1970s! It’s not something
our own John Neinstedt at “Competitive Edge” would
do, but many others have.
The Poll’s documentation also does not state whether
only registered voters were interviewed. That is also
probematic!
Chances are this tax is headed for defeat, but we can
hope someone will do a later poll limited to the CITY
of San Diego, and to LIKELY voters alone.
I wonder what the polling would say for a RECALL of Jerry Sanders?
