Senator Wyland Announces Campaign for Board of Equalization

(Sacramento, CA) – Today, State Senator Mark Wyland, announces his campaign for Board of Equalization, District 3.

Senator Wyland has been a longtime advocate for oversight and accountability of government, tax reform, and budget reform. As a Board of Equalization member, he pledges to fight for taxpayers and small business owners.

“Californians are over regulated and over taxed. As a small business owner for 20 years, I personally dealt with the BOE and their complicated rules and unwieldy bureaucracy. As a state legislator, I have seen first-hand how these policies destroy or drive jobs out of the state. We need fundamental reforms now and I will fight for them on the Board of Equalization,” said Wyland.

In addition to serving in the State Senate and State Assembly, Wyland is a businessman and former owner of Pine Tree Lumber, a lumber and building materials supplier. He also previously served on the Escondido Union School District Board.

Wyland represents the 38th State Senate District which includes southern Orange County and north San Diego County. The 3rd Board of Equalization District is currently represented by Michelle Steel, who cannot run again due to term limits.
