The San Diego Association of REALTORS® (SDAR), one of my clients, is hosting the last major mayoral debate.
- When: Wednesday, May 30
- Time: Registration & VIP Reception at 11AM; Lunch at 11:45AM; Debate at 12:15PM
- Location: Town & County Conference Center in Mission Valley.
- Debate is in the Golden Pacific Ballroom. VIP Reception is for media, candidates and guests and is in Royal Palm Salon 5.
This should be an exceptional debate since it’s so close to Election Day, June 5.
10News is filming the debate and plans to broadcast it on Saturday, June 2 at 7PM. You also will be able to watch the debate live at www.sdar.com.
The San Diego County Taxpayers Association and The Lincoln Club of San Diego County are partnering with SDAR to host the debate, a joint forum with Women’s Council of REALTORS®, California Association of Mortgage Professionals, Young Professionals Network, The Daily Transcript and 10News.
Steve Atkinson of 10News is moderating and the media panel includes U-T San Diego’s Craig Gustafson, NBC San Diego’s Gene Cubbison, The Daily Transcript’s Joe Guerin and Virginia Cha of 10News.
Blogger’s Row will include some of San Diego’s best social media and political professionals. San Diego Rostra, the OB Rag, Ryan Purdy, Kelly Davis, Erik Bruvold, Chris Cadelago, Chris Cate and others will keep everyone updated with live tweets from the debate floor. Follow #SDMayor for all the action.
Follow #SDARExpo for tweets about SDAR’s 2012 REALTORS® Expo and Conference, which also is taking place on May 30 at the Town & Country Conference Center.
Expo will mark the debut of SDAR’s REALTOR® Dash, a first of its kind full suite of online tools for REALTORS®, developed and powered by Google. REALTOR® Dash was created by Google for SDAR, to address the need for REALTORS® to have a more cohesive and streamlined system for doing business.

I’d like to know where the candidates stand on Mayor Sanders’ ill-conceived plan to hike fees for making public information available to the public.
Says U-T San Diego’s Matt Hall:
“Most troubling to me is this: Sanders wants to collect 25 cents per page for documents that city staffers provide electronically. It’s been a routinely free service and a great alternative to reviewing documents, then requesting copies, in person at City Hall.”
Sanders isn’t quite so frugal with public resources when it comes to promoting his pet projects.
“SAN DIEGO – Mayor Jerry Sanders is expanding his staff to keep the Chargers in San Diego and he’s confident that decision will be applauded – by everyone.
The hired financial advisor’s roll will be determining how much taxpayers will have to fork over to build the proposed $800 million new stadium in East Village.” . . .
