When SANDAG bought the SR125 late last year it stated the intention to reduce tolls for the motoring public.
There were skeptics (you know who you are) who said that like all government agencies, SANDAG would become addicted to the money keep the tolls the same or higher.
Today the SANDAG Board of Directors voted unanimously to reduce the tolls, and as far as I can tell, we’re the first agency in the country to actually reduce the tolls on a toll road.
The SANDAG Board agenda and report are available here.

If SANDAG voted to abolish itself, that would be Historic.
We’d suggest using the weighted vote in such an instance, Jim.
LOL
“If SANDAG voted to abolish itself, that would be Historic”
Dozens of people would miss it.
Brian, as you infer, all those folks missing SANDAG would be SANDAG employees.
OVERPAID, OVERPENSIONED employees, with zero accountability for their many misrepresentations when conning the voters into building those silly trolleys — while intentionally ignoring the highways used by 98% of the people in San Diego.
Look back at SANDAG’s trolley “ridership” and cost projections. Any private employee or firm that was wrong that often (and always on the wrong side of “wrong”) would have been fired long ago.
The only spur that made any economic sense was the Tijuana trolley. It was all downhill after that.
