The Republican Liberty Caucus of San Diego County endorsed Santee Councilman Rob Mc Nelis’ campaign for Mayor of Santee and the re-election campaign of Vista Council Member Amanda Young Rigby last week.
McNelis was elected to the Santee Council in 2010, re-elected in 2014, and has been an integral part of Santee’s “conservative governance” success. A Santee business owner since 1997, McNelis was President of the San Diego County Association of Mortgage Brokers and President of the East San Diego County Association of Realtors. In 2007, Mc Nelis was awarded both “Citizen of the Year” by the City of Santee and “Business of the Year” for the (then) 77th State Assembly District.
Vista Deputy Mayor Amanda Rigby was elected to the Vista City Council in 2012. Rigby was one of the original RLC Torchbearers (a designation given to an elected official who won the Thomas Paine Award) for her courageous stance against crony capitalism on the Vista City Council. Rigby serves on the Encina Wastewater Board of Directors and the League of California Cities. She previous served as a Commissioner for the City of Vista and is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The Republican Liberty Caucus is a 527 voluntary grassroots membership organization dedicated to working within the Republican Party to advance the principles of individual rights, limited government and free markets. Republican Liberty Caucus of San Diego was founded in 2012, to advance these principles of Liberty, by helping conservative Republicans get elected to local government.
In 2014, The Republican Liberty Caucus of San Diego helped elect Poway Mayor Steve Vaus. Endorsed candidates for 2016 include Richard Bailey for Coronado Mayor, Rob McNelis for Santee Mayor, and Amanda Rigby for Vista Council.
