Why that date? It will be the 57th anniversary of the only-ever World Series triumph
by the BROOKLYN Dodgers. Mr. Filner grew up in Brooklyn. He was and is a hard-core
fan, who saw Jackie Robinson, Pee Wee Reese, Roy Campanella & San Diego county’s own
“Duke” Snider at Ebbets Field.
Mr. Filner will wear a blue Dodger cap at the press conference, but it will have a
big “B” on the crown. Reporters will be puzzled by that detail, but now YOU know
the rest of the story!
