The very first SD Rostra comment was posted August 29, 2009, from Greg Larkin…
“Great stuff. I like the new site.”
Compelling.
Well, ok, since then there have been a few comments somewhat more compelling.
At any rate, nearly six years later, Rostra has accumulated 19,980 comments on 4,730 article postings, averaging over four comments per post. Some posts receive no comments, others go on and on (and on) with the reaction and debate.
Sometime in the next few days the site will exceed 20,000 comments.
Who will post the magic milestone comment? Please don’t waste it — be insightful, clever, and compelling.
In the meantime, thanks to everyone for your continued excellent and thoughtful (for the most part) participation. It makes us proud to administer the opportunity for discussion!

No. SD Rostra. Thank you. Grateful that you continue to allow me to read Rider, Brady and Schwartz at my original subscription price without any rate increases. Best value in the media market.
I think we should all thank hypocrisy for all the ill-informed comments he has made to make this possible. God only knows how many liberals are discouraged from posting here because they can’t figure out the basic math problem below the submit button.

We assume Chris Jordan thinks that’s funny.
Thorette, Jordan’s comment made me laugh. Ergo, it WAS funny!
How often does somebody say. Man those republicans have a great sense of humor. Or for that matter “a” sense of humor.

If Rider thinks it’s funny, then it clearly is funny.
30000 postings start with 20001
and 20002
and 20003. Heck we should start offering free pizza for the postings that reach certain bench marks.
For the record, Chris Jordan’s comment was very funny.
