  1. While I’m very much in favor of the GOP supporting more Hispanic candidates for office — something we have not done often enough — I DO ask that they be reasonably Republican in their votes. I don’t much care about the social issues either way, as they are controlled by the Dems anyway. But the FISCAL issue votes should demonstrate a “rock” solid conservative viewpoint. Rocky’s votes don’t — at least not consistently enough to my satisfaction.

    That being said, I STILL might support Chavez for Senate if he seems to be the best chance for us to elect a Republican to that position. However, I see no need for a Republican organization to make that endorsement so early in the election cycle. Better to wait to see who the viable GOP candidates are, and then pick from that group who the endorser deems to be the most fiscally conservative and most electable choice (two sometimes conflicting criteria).
