UPDATE: As promised, video of Chuck Devore’s spirited speech at the launch of Rick Amato’s Web site, AmatoTalk.com, is now available, here with Part 1, and here with Part 2. Again, apologies for the mediocre quality of the video.

Conservative talk show host Rick Amato held the official launch party for AmatoTalk.com, where you can get your own blog, Wednesday night. The event, at the Rock Bottom Brewery in La Jolla, was primarily an event for conservatives. However, a few Libertarian infiltrators, including yours truly and the Libertarian Lass, also attended.
Amato said his site will be useful for grassroots organizing and discussion. I got some video of him talking, here and here. Apologies for the quality, which isn’t the greatest. But you can get a sense of what he’s trying to do.
Chuck DeVore also spoke, and I will post video of that later today. Although DeVore lost the GOP senatorial primary to Carly Fiorina and is leaving the State Senate, DeVore said his political career is not over. He’s going to run for office again at an undetermined point in the future.
Both Amato and DeVore discussed the meaning of last election’s left-swing sweep in California. What it means, they said, is that the left for now has complete control at the top, so conservatives should focus on grassroots organizing for a comeback.
DeVore joked that it was fitting the event should be held at the Rock Bottom Brewery, because that’s what the California conservative movement has reached. At least when you’ve hit bottom, there’s nowhere to go but up.
