Press Release
SAN DIEGO –The Republican Party of San Diego County is committed to real, effective, taxpayer centered reform in San Diego. In support of that change, and the candidates who lead the effort to protect taxpayers and ensure more effective local government, we are happy to announce two recent contributions.
Earlier this week, the Republican Party made a $50,000 contribution to the campaign of Councilmember Lorie Zapf who is is running for re-election to the San Diego City Council, District 2. Additionally, we made a $20,000 contribution to Chris Cate, our official endorsed candidate for District 6.
Both candidates were endorsed by the Republican Party on June 10, 2013.

I think you have the districts switched. Zapf is in 6.
Is Faulconer termed out of district 2? What are his plans?

Redistricting placed Lorie Zapf’s residence in the redrawn District 2, where she is running next year.
Kevin Faulconer is termed out of the district. His plans? That may depend on whether there’s a mayoral election before 2016.
The redistricting and Zapf’s choice to stay where she lives (good non-move) created an open District 6 seat, where Chris Cate is running.
