Key Orange County Political Leaders
Endorse Carl DeMaio for Congress
“New Generation Republican” Is
Top Congressional Recruit for 2014
Irvine – Carl DeMaio today released a number of endorsements from key political groups and elected leaders in Orange County who support his bid to win a key nationally-targeted Congressional seat in Southern California.
DeMaio, who already has been garnering significant national media attention and support from national Republican leaders, is running for the 52nd District in the northern part of San Diego.
The Lincoln Club of Orange County announced their endorsement of DeMaio noting “Carl DeMaio represents a more positive and inclusive future for the Republican Party, and his record of getting fiscal and economic reform done has given him a national reputation.”
The New Majority of Orange County also announced their endorsement of DeMaio noting that DeMaio’s work on Pension Reform across the country has saved taxpayers billions and positions him to be a national leader on this key issue.
A number of other Orange County political and business leaders are serving on host committees for fundraisers in support of Carl DeMaio including:
• Congressman Ed Royce
• Congressman John Campbell
• Congressman Ken Calvert
• State Senator Mimi Walters
• State Assemblywoman Diane Harkey
• County Supervisor John Moorlach
• County Supervisor Pat Bates
• Board of Equalization Member Michele Steele
• Former Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle
DeMaio said he was thrilled to see growing support for his message across the state. “I see myself as a ‘new Generation Republican’ who wants to challenge the Party to focus on pocket-book, economic and quality of life issues in a more positive and inclusive way – rather than issues that are frankly none of the government’s business in the first place,” DeMaio concluded.
DeMaio carried California’s 52nd Congressional District by a whopping 16% in his 2012 mayoral bid. National Republican leaders have endorsed his candidacy and have called him one of their top recruits for 2014.
