Good job to the San Diego Lincoln Club for inviting San Diego City Councilman Tony Young to address the organization. Yes, it is true, Tony Young is a Democrat. Yes, it is true, Tony also votes with labor some of the time from what I can tell. But at the Lincoln Club Tony was very clear that he didn’t want to be defined by his partisan affiliation, or his labor affiliation. Good for him! We could stand a few more officials at the city who actually looked at problems, and how to solve them, first!

I’m not sure what to make of this. Yes Tony sometimes votes with the rational side but more often than not if Im right he votes with labor and the progressives. Given the makeup of the council I guess one slice is better than nothing… but I hope they are not going down the road business types so often do of taking what democrats say at face value when they are with the Reps, but then ignoring their actual votes.
Exactly! The Lincoln clubbers are right to hear from all. Alternatively, the state chamber epitomizes the act of railing against job killer bills while donating the huge bulk of their PAC cash to those authoring the bills. Was it our own Barry J that once said it amounted to getting wailed on while writing a check to the perpetrator. Apologies, Barry, if I have it a bit off, but the visual always stuck with me.
