The City Council in Berkeley is hell-bent on taking the title of “Wackiest Elected Body.” They are heading toward proposing banning smoking cigarettes in your very own apartments, condos, and yes… even your single family home! I couldn’t make this up…

Mind you, this is in a city that professes to espouse a “do your own thing” mentality, and is very OK with people smoking pot with little or no restriction and has no ban on fireplaces or outdoor charcoal BBQs, which put out a lot more toxic smoke than a cigarette.
Fascinating.
So if this becomes law, what will happen if some alert member of the public calls in a 911 “suspected cigarette smoking in the house” report and when the police show up its just people sitting in front of the blazing fireplace smoking their medical marijuana while the BBQ flames intensely on the patio? “Sorry folks, have a nice day,” and remember, it’s OK to toke on a fatty, but not to smoke a ciggy. This is Berkeley, Damnit!
A thought: maybe someone should actually propose a “Wackiest” awards, sort of like the “Darwin” Awards? T.A., you could establish an “open nomination” month, such as December, and have the awards in February? Thoughts?
Have a Happy Thanksgiving fellow SDRostrafarian’s!
