Looking for a different solution to solve California’s serious budget crisis, Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS) released a new ad campaign targeting the state’s burgeoning immigration populace.
CAPS is calling for lower levels of “legal immigration” and “temporary workers” in California until state lawmakers have a chance to repair the broken budget and put California back on the path to economic freedom.
The ads are launching as the federal government admits more than 1 million immigrants and temporary workers a year to compete with American employees for scarce jobs in the new normal of 9.8 percent unemployment. The sustained double-digit unemployment is something the country hasn’t seen since the Great Depression, CAPS contends.
“Disconnected policies like these make it easy to understand why a record number of politicians just lost their jobs,” explained Marilyn DeYoung, chairman of the board for CAPS. “Washington needs to wake up and put American workers first. That means slowing legal immigration as well as illegal until the country is working again.”
CAPS believes that more legal immigrants reside and settle in California permanently than in any other state and this fact is a driving force in California’s 12 percent unemployment rate -the third highest in the country.
“The flow of workers has not stopped since the recession hit. The policy is having a particularly insidious effect in states like California, with millions unable to find a job and unemployment rates topping 12 percent. As a result, California has been forced to borrow $40 million a day from the federal government to pay unemployment benefits,” said Gretchen Pfaff, marketing communications director for CAPS. “At the same time, the Federal government continues to flood California with legal immigrants and temporary workers with no calls for an end to foreign workers in sight.”
The new 30-second CAPS TV ad will air on cable networks in California and it illustrates the lack of attention to “legal foreign workers” by first presenting the word “illegal.” The spokesperson in the TV ad then separates the word “legal” out, saying “what about these workers; legal foreign workers?”

The only difference between Hueso and Young is that Young is not a jerk. From a political/philosophical standpoint they are exactly the same. I wonder if Young will even seek Lincoln Club’s endorsement in the future and/or even cares what they think.
