To some, apparently, it’s not okay to speak Spanish if you’re a Republican.
If you’re a sexual harasser, Spanish is fine as long as you’re also a Democrat.

For those thinking this is somehow inappropriate, the point is that BOTH statements are ludicrous.
Can’t win for losing with the small-minded, statist crowd. Once they’ve stereotyped you, you dare not try to rise above their (low) expectations of you. One has to know his place, don’t you know…
Aplaudo Kevin para conectar con los votantes que hablan Español.
Great touch, a little calculated, but overall a great decision. But let’s not fool ourselves into thinking it will make inroads with actual HIspanic voters. It will be more popular, and net more votes, among English-only white people who “just think that is great”, than with Latinos.
The problem with our party and Hispanic voters isn’t a lack of outreach and/or use of the Spanish language. We’ve all heard the activist who says, “if only we could get out message to these people,” as if some invisible force prevents us from sending direct mail. The truth is that we haven’t yet figured out a marketable product for Latino voters, and until we do, actual Hispanic voters South of the 8 will continue to scoff. Buy maybe making inroads with Fletcher’s yuppie vote was the actual intent here.
