No on D Campaign to Unveil Television Ad and
Launch YouTube Contest Using a
Mobile “Jumbo-Tron” at Various Events in City

WHAT: The No on Prop D is holding a “Jumbo-Tron Screen Premiere” of the campaign’s official television ads. The massive screen will be transported around the city by truck – stopping at key retail locations for shoppers to see the ads. Two ads will be shown: “Blank Check” and “Don’t Trust Us.”
The No on D campaign television ads will begin running October 25th and will run through the end of the election.
The campaign will also kick-off a five day “Viral Video Contest” – asking San Diegans to create their own No on Prop D ad and post it to YouTube.
**The individual with best viral video ad will receive a $500 gift certificate to Phil’s Barbeque and will get to “skip the line” at the popular eatery.**

WHY: “We may not have the money that the politicians and unions have for their Yes on D campaign, but we have the creativity of the grassroots,” commented TJ Zane of San Diegans Against Government Waste. “By doing this city-wide tour with a jumbo-tron and holding a YouTube ad contest, we hope to engage the creativity of the grassroots in getting our message out using social media,” commented Councilmember Carl DeMaio.
