  1. This is a Republican site, is it not? I don’t know if the Joel Anderson stuff is legit or if the media are just going after him. Unless you’ve determined that yourself, why are you reprinting negatives about him?

  2. Hypocrite: One who plays a part; especially, one who, for the purpose of winning approbation of favor, puts on a fair outside seeming; one who feigns to be other and better than he is; a false pretender to virtue or piety; one who simulates virtue or piety. (Webster’s Revised Unabridged, 1913 Edition)

Could anything come closer to the above definition than Joel Anderson’s inappropriate use of taxpayer money to “warn” voters about his opponent’s inappropriate use of taxpayer money?

All that’s missing is Anderson’s picture next to the entry.

To Huh: This is a political website. Those who come here follow politics. It’s a safe bet that virtually everyone that reads Rostra is aware of major political stories in San Diego that have been covered by the UT and others. If there is an argument for not providing some news vs. other news, it wouldn’t be about hiding press that could be perceived as bad, it would be about why rehash it at all if the major media are already covering it. We can’t cover it all; and our focus will always likely be on political offerings that others don’t have; breaking it first; and/or commentary on the news. But, to dismiss something simply because it may be considered negative to Republicans is a bit head-in-the-sand-like.

  4. As a fan of Joel, I must confess a bit of discomfort with what appears to be an attempt, albeit aborted, at circumventing campaign limit laws.

Joel is better than that and shouldn’t have handed his Riverside County opponent such a nugget to exploit.
