Anna Good, Mike Slater Show Producer…

If you heard the Tony Maglica interview yesterday, you heard that the state of California won’t let him call his flashlights “Made in America”, because the light bulbs in them aren’t made in America, which he can’t even get in America!

Assemblyman Brian Jones joined us this morning to talk about the bill that was introduced, but struck down that would have allowed businesses like Maglite to have the same ability to call their products “Made in America”, which they would be able to in almost every other state!

  1. Slater is doing the best work on radio of any local show host. He’s educational and principled. We’ll probably lose him as his career advances to LA, DC, or NY so enjoy him while we can.

  2. So it’s incumbent (so to speak) that flash light manufacturers also domestically manufacture the light bulbs for their flashlights. And how can the public be sure that the flashlights use only U.S.-manufactured batteries?

    Brilliant thinking.

Talk about a bunch of dim bulbs!

Is ANY car in America made solely with American parts? Of COURSE not. But often domestic models ARE assembled by union labor. THAT’s the key to getting one’s product labeled “Made in America.”

Let me guess — the flashlight maker is not unionized. Ya think?
