Graham raises $75,000 in first 19 days

(San Diego, Calif.) – San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer today announced his endorsement of North County businessman Phil Graham for State Assembly.

“The San Diego region needs legislators in Sacramento who understand how important the innovation community is to the future of our state,” said Faulconer. “As an executive at the Sanford-Burnham Medical Institute, Phil has been actively involved in efforts to support medical research and the companies driving innovation in America. He will be a forceful voice for this critical regional economic engine, which will create new jobs and improve lives.”

“Mayor Faulconer has been a great leader for the region since taking office,” said Graham. “His approach to governance and public policy is an example of how you can get things done for the betterment of our community without regard to partisanship. As a member of the Assembly, I also plan to focus on results that move our region forward.”

June 30th was the deadline for fundraising for the first period of 2015 and Graham has $75,000, an ambitious start for a candidate who announced less than three weeks ago.

A San Diego native, Phil spent seven years in Singapore during his international business career, and then came home and turned his focus to life sciences and philanthropy. As an executive at the La Jolla‐based Sanford-Burnham Medical Institute, a world-renowned leader in research, Phil helped build support for research for a number of diseases, as well as efforts directed at Wounded Warriors. At the nexus of life sciences and technology, Phil has worked as a catalyst for our North County economy.
