DeMaio Using Volkalize.com Site Developed by Local Businesswoman to Engage Voters in Discussion on Key Issues

San Diego – Continuing his use of new technologies and platforms to make government more accessible to the public, Carl DeMaio is touting a website created by a 23 year old female entrepreneur right here in San Diego.

On Wednesday, DeMaio posted an opening message on Volkalize.com discussing his concept of “New Generation Republicans” taking leadership roles on national issues and inviting them to be part of his campaign for U.S. Congress.

“By embracing new technologies and using new tools like Volkalize.com, I hope to be more accessible to all San Diegans and make government more transparent and open,” DeMaio noted.  “What’s better, I’m always happy to support young entrepreneurs and small businesses right here in San Diego,” DeMaio added.

During his time on the San Diego City Council, DeMaio was aggressive in his use of new technologies to make himself and government programs more accessible to citizens.  An early adopter of Facebook and Twitter, DeMaio established the first smart phone app customized for the City of San Diego service requests.

DeMaio is the first Congressional candidate to use Volkalize.com. Carl DeMaio’s Volkalize profile can be found at http://www.volkalize.com/members/carldemaio/profile/

“I am very excited that Carl DeMaio is the first Congressional candidate using Volkalize.com,” said Jordan Bosstick, the San Diego resident who founded Volkalize.com.  “DeMaio is showing real commitment to being accessible to the public and being serious about restoring public trust,” concluded Bosstick.
