County Supervisor Dianne Jacob’s re-election campaign today announced the endorsement of San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer.

“I’ve worked closely with Supervisor Jacob on a number of issues, most recently on the Alzheimer’s Project, which seeks to accelerate the search for a cure for this devastating disease,” said Faulconer. “I appreciate Dianne’s dedication to serving her constituents and her enthusiasm for addressing challenging issues facing our county. I’m proud to join dozens of other community leaders in supporting her re-election,” he said.

“Mayor Faulconer has been a great partner and done a tremendous job leading the City of San Diego. He understands the importance of cooperation and collaboration between government agencies to solve problems for our residents, and I greatly appreciate his support for my re-election,” said Jacob. “A portion of my district includes eastern parts of the City of San Diego, and I know Mayor Faulconer is respected by many of these residents, so his endorsement is a big step forward for our campaign,” she said.

  1. I care about Alzheimer’s like everyone else but with all due respect for the Mayor and the Supervisor’s intent, since when is it the government’s job to study disease? Does it have something to do with superior intellect above the common population? Has any of our wealth been redistributed away from our private needs to the Supervisors?

  2. Good question, Eric.
Perhaps government studies of dementia should begin with the types endemic to and ubiquitous among politicians.

  3. NOW THAT I OWN A GOAT RANCH IN JULIAN, MY INTERESTS PEAK WITH BOTH HUNTER AND DIANE. THE SCUTTLEBUTT I GET ON DIANE IS POSITIVE. THEN AGAIN THE JULIAN FOLK THINK HUNTER SR. IS STILL IN OFFICE.

I HAVE HAD GOOD DEALINGS WITH THE LAND USE PEOPLE. EAST COUNTY SEEMS TO BE IN GOOD HANDS. AS FAR AS MEDICAL RESEARCH AND BIO TECH IS CONCERNED RON ROBERTS LEADS THE PACK.

  4. I’m still waiting for an explanation of why the local party leaders have it in for Supervisor Jacob. She’s always done a fine job in my view and I see no reason not to support her again.

  5. I don’t like this endorsement one bit!!!
We are supposed to be a team, I’m sorry but if you are a candidate that’s been endorsed by the party (Mayor Faulconer), and you turn around and endorse the other candidate that was not endorsed, I call that disrespectful and a slap in the face of all Republicans.
Specially when the Republican party endorsed Senator Joel Anderson almost unanimously.
