Well-Known Jewelry Store Owner Makes Announcement on the DeMaio Report

Leo Hamel appeared on the DeMaio Report today to make the surprise announcement that he’s running for the California State Assembly. Hamel will run for the District 71 seat currently held by Assemblymember Brian Jones (R) which includes east county San Diego.

Hamel is well-known in San Diego for his jewelry stores and the TV ads he runs with his family that end “come see us!” Hamel says he’s running because he’s frustrated by professional politicians who have not solved important issues.

Hamel is a libertarian-leaning Republican who believes in limited government, a better business environment for job creation, and the protection of personal freedoms.

Host Carl DeMaio commented: “I’ve known Leo Hamel for years and he’s always been concerned about job creation, public safety and defending personal freedoms. We’re always happy give good candidates time on the show.”
