‘We need Chris Cate on the City Council so we can be sure government reforms continue’
SAN DIEGO (Nov. 3, 2014)—Former California Governor Pete Wilson has endorsed Chris Cate for San Diego City Council.
“Chris Cate is a former small businessman and today he serves as vice president of the San Diego County Taxpayers Association. In that position, Chris works closely with Mayor Kevin Faulconer and former Mayor Jerry Sanders on reforms that have saved our city from bankruptcy,” Wilson said.
He added: “Labor unions have poured tens of thousands into this race because they want to stop Mayor Faulconer’s reforms. We need Chris on the City Council so we can be sure that these reforms continue to be implemented.”
Cate said he’s honored to receive Governor Wilson’s support.
“It’s a big deal for me and my campaign,” Cate said. “Governor Wilson is one of California’s great leaders and he made his mark in San Diego. He sees what many San Diegans see — I have the experience and leadership skills to hit the ground running. I don’t make promises I can’t keep. I’ve fought for government reforms, and I will continue to do so.”
Cate added: “There is nothing more important to me than the residents of District 6 and ensuring they have a government that works for them, and neighborhoods they can be proud of.”
