SAN DIEGO – At its regular monthly meeting tonight, before a standing-room only crowd, the Republican Party of San Diego County endorsed Kevin Faulconer as the official, endorsed Republican candidate for San Diego Mayor.
Councilman Kevin Faulconer was introduced and nominated by Congressional candidate and former San Diego Councilman Carl DeMaio, who also personally endorsed Faulconer at the meeting.
Carl DeMaio:
“I’ve been in the trenches with Kevin. I know he cares about San Diego and he’s always willing to work with others to get the job done. Nobody in this race has done more for San Diego than Kevin Faulconer. Kevin is the only candidate who can be trusted to finish the job of reform.”
Chairman Tony Krvaric:
“Kevin Faulconer is exactly the right leader at the right time for San Diego. As the longest-serving member of the city council, he has the experience needed to lead our City. San Diegans deserve a mayor who has the courage of his convictions, stands on principle and will put the needs of taxpayers first.”
Kevin Faulconer:
“I’m honored and humbled. The Party was there for San Diego when we fought to stop a city-wide sales tax increase in 2010 and pass comprehensive pension reform last year. I share its commitment to protecting taxpayers, promoting economic prosperity throughout our region and restoring integrity at City Hall.”

This is disturbing on so many levels.
DeMaio- “First, we must become more inclusive – and reach out to all communities to listen to their struggles and represent their hopes and dreams. Republicans can no longer be the party of old white men – they must win the trust and support of Latinos, African Americans, Asians, women, youth, working families and gays,” he said.”
Yet, Carl had no problem when this same cabal of old-rich white men were planning and devising his political future in some back room.
Despicable…and “Fletcher-esque” in its political crassness and hypocrisy.

He is looking better and better as an honest, viable, and deliverable alternative to this graft and inside baseball of the establishment as time goes on!

Hats off to the investigative journalists at Voice of San Diego…I stand corrected…there are some journalists that think this smells as much as some Republicans think it does…I guess this is what is meant by the “New Generation….” But it seems like old world- aristocratic machinations and blatant political nepotism.
