Press Release
(San Diego, Calif.) – The Denise Gitsham for Congress campaign released the following statement in response to Scott Peters latest dishonesty.
“Scott Peters, who has raised more than $3 million in campaign contributions for his reelection, half of it coming from special interest PACs, refuses to return more than $35,000 in contributions from a fundraising money launder scheme which has already put one person in jail for election fraud.
“The American people are sick of politics as usual, and Denise is running to change Washington because far too often politicians believe they are above the law. Rather than hide the truth, Scott Peters should donate all of the tainted funds to charity. San Diego is home to many active duty military men and women, as well as veterans of the armed forces. If Congressman Peters is having trouble locating a suitable charity, we recommend the San Diego Veterans Coalition.” – Jordan Russell, campaign spokesman.
