From County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher, 10:30 pm Wednesday…

“The strain on my wife and family over this past week has been immense and unbearable. A combination of my personal mistakes plus false accusations has created a burden that my family shouldn’t have to bear. I will be resigning from the Board of Supervisors, effective at the end of my medical leave. I will focus solely on getting healthy and being a good husband, father and friend.

“I am grateful to my constituents for the honor of serving you, my incredible team who worked tirelessly to make a real difference, and our county workers who put it all on the line for those most in need everyday. I am proud of what we accomplished together. My decision today is solely based on what is best for my family.”

The question remains open as to when his medical leave ends.

  1. San Diego County Supervisorial District 4 deserves a Republican who will serve the constituents of the district in the manner they deserve. The County Republican Central Committee has an opportunity provide that person. Choose wisely and I am sure San Diego County can genuinely address the issues we face.

  2. Note that he will be receiving full pay and benefits until his “medical leave” is complete.

    What a guy!

BTW, if Fletcher is not already receiving PTSD disability payments for his military time in Iraq, he may very well file now — with all this new “evidence” of his PTSD.

  3. I wonder if Jacobs will give Fletcher his old job back at Qualcomm. Some suggested that Nathan received a six figure Qualcomm income for doing nothing while he prepared to run for public office.

Probably not true, of course. Otherwise the U-T Watchdog reporters would have reported it.

  4. So, with MTS hiring an “independent” law firm to conduct an investigation, in addition to MTS’s regular law firm, PLUS whatever settlement is paid, how much do you think Nathan’s hormones are going to end up costing the taxpayers?
