From Senator Joel Anderson…

This Saturday, something extraordinary is happening in your area that I want to make sure you know about.

Ramona will finally be able hold memorial ceremonies for a local fallen Korean War soldier – Corporal Eugene (Mackie) Morelli, who had been missing in action for 60 years.

The entire community of Ramona is invited to honor the return home of Corporal Morelli by standing for his memorial procession as it proceeds up Ramona’s Main Street at 8:30 a.m., on Saturday November 5.

The Ramona Rotary Club will place American Flags along Main Street for Saturday’s ceremony honoring this fallen hero. The burial will occur at Bloomdale/Mesa Chiquita Cemetery later that morning to be followed by a community lunch at the Mesa Grande Tribal Hall, 2600 Mesa Grande Road.

I encourage you to read the incredible story about a true American hero, the late Corporal Morelli, in the November edition of the Ramona Home Journal.

The family of Corporal Morelli and the community of Ramona will now be able to honor and provide their hero with the final resting place he deserves.

Thank you,

Joel
