From the Republican Party of San Diego County…
Today is a sad day.
The ONLY Supervisor who stood with us today was Supervisor Bill Horn. He cast the lone vote NOT to change the county campaign rules in the middle of the game and infringe on the free speech rights of political parties.
PLEASE CONTACT BILL RIGHT NOW TO THANK HIM FOR STANDING WITH US:

Sadly Ron Roberts, Greg Cox, and Dianne Jacob voted to empower narrow dark money groups which operate out of PO Boxes for a couple of months before an election and labor unions, at the expense of transparent, broad based, democratically elected political party organizations.
Of course this doesn’t affect the local Democrat Party since labor unions do the bulk of the heavy lifting for them. THIS IS A DIRECT ASSAULT ON OUR PARTY. And changing the rules while the cycle has already started is just bad government.
OK, WHY DOES ANY OF THIS MATTER YOU SAY!?
WELL, LET ME TELL YOU…
We’re already facing VERY TOUGH odds electing a Republican in the Cox and Roberts districts. Today’s short sighted action has made it virtually IMPOSSIBLE. Greg Cox now has a self-inflicted target on his back and the possibility of a MINORITY Republican County Board of Supervisors in 2018 is real!
There will be a second reading next week. I will keep you posted.
In the meantime, PLEASE DO send Bill Horn a message per above. It’s important that he knows we appreciate him standing with us. He is a true friend of our Party.
Thank you for all you do! The fight is not over. Not by a long shot.
To be continued…
Republican Party of San Diego County
P.S. This has been the most bizarre couple of days that I’ve ever experienced in my eight years as Chairman. The sense of betrayal and disappointment is beyond words. Et tu, Cox, Jacob, and Roberts?
