After organizing last Friday’s Occupy Oceanside event, rumors are running rampant this morning that Kyle Krahel-Frolander has been fired by Deputy Mayor Esther Sanchez. Neither Krahel-Frolander nor Sanchez could be reached for comment as of this posting, although multiple sources have confirmed the information.
It is unknown if Krahel-Frolander’s recent activities with Occupy Oceanside are connected with the rumored dismissal, but this YouTube video of the Friday event features him prominently, along with questions about whether he is in fact behind the effort and if he is doing so on city time:

Krahel-Frolander, who additionally goes by Kyle Krahel on his Facebook page, also organized an anti-tea party rally in April. The UT had that story. Did the fact that he took some heat for his involvement at that time cause him to try to downplay or deny his involvement now in the YouTube video?
His Facebook page shows Krahel-Frolander to be 2004 graduate of Oceanside’s El Camino High School and a 2008 graduate of Harvard University. He quotes Mark Twain on Facebook, “Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on, or by imbeciles who really mean it,” and claims as his religious views, “resistance to tyranny is obedience to god.”

Not a rumor, Kyle Frolander has been relieved of his duties as assistant to Deputy Mayor Ester Sanchez of Oceanside City Council.
Now he can go join the 99%, 100% of the time.
Yeah, we knew it wasn’t just a rumor, based on our sources, but with little chance of Kyle calling us back, we are good with being the first with the news and letting others confirm it. 😉
Instead of credit to Rostra, the following credits DemUnderground, which got the info from Rostra. Other than that, interesting post…
‘Occupy’ Event Organized By Aide to Democratic Deputy Mayor
More proof that OWS has been hijacked by the leftist political machine

Illustrating the fact that the Democratic Party establishment has hijacked and is now steering the ‘Occupy’ movement, an aide to Deputy Mayor Esther Sanchez was caught organizing and leading the ‘Occupy Oceanside’ event which took place this past Friday in San Diego County, California.
When confronted on camera by activist Mark Dice, Kyle Krahel-Frolander, aide to Oceanside, California’s Deputy Mayor, Esther Sanchez (a Democrat), denies that he organized or was leading the protest.
The Facebook page used to promote the event suggested otherwise, with Krahel’s name listed as a creator. This can be seen in the video but was subsequently deleted from the ‘Occupy Oceanside’ Facebook page, suggesting an attempt to hide Krahel’s involvement. Krahel also posted a press release to promote the event at 12:15pm on a Wednesday afternoon, suggesting he was organizing the rally while on the job.
A MeetUp.com posting that promotes the demonstration was also authored by Krahel.
Krahel attempts to flee when Dice brings up the fact that he is an aide to the Deputy Mayor and is engaging in a conflict of interest, organizing a protest on the taxpayer’s dime.
Despite his denial, Krahel can clearly be seen leading the event, using a bullhorn to make the other demonstrators robotically repeat his slogans. When Dice attempts to start a chant for “End the Fed,” the protesters seem disinterested and are less than enthusiastic about his support for Ron Paul’s presidential campaign.
Although Krahel claims no one is leading the event, Dice’s attempts to use the bullhorn are rebuffed by Krahel. When Dice attempts to alert the local mainstream media TV network to the controversy, they appear disinterested.
Interestingly, the video was also posted on the official ‘Occupy Wall Street’ website, but the entry was subsequently removed by administrators.
According to left-wing forum Democratic Underground, Krahel-Frolander was fired by Sanchez shortly after the Mark Dice video went public, presumably to prevent the controversy gaining momentum.
As we have documented, within two weeks of the start of the ‘Occupy’ movement last month, it was quickly hijacked and co-opted by the Democratic Party establishment in a bid to turn the demonstrations into a Barack Obama re-election campaign tool.
The official ‘Occupy’ website has formed alliances with numerous Obama campaign front groups, while the George Soros-funded MoveOn.org, another Obama administration lobbyist group, has also seized control of the protests and attempted to steer the message and push Obama’s tax agenda.
This is not to downplay the obviously out of control police brutality that has been directed against protesters exercising their first amendment rights, whether you agree with them or not, in place likes Denver and Oakland. Nor is it to suggest that a sizeable portion of the ‘Occupy’ demonstrators don’t in fact understand that the Wall Street-financed Obama administration is part of the problem, not the solution.

I wonder what actually got him fired. Lying on camera??? Supporting an uprising while serving in office. Doing a revolution during Government time??
NC Times now has the story, after we tweeted it to @nctimes early this afternoon…
http://www.nctimes.com/news/local/oceanside/article_c83c00f7-d0fb-5b54-9d8b-097b923533e2.html
We won’t thank them for the credit.
Hello, nobody from this site left me any message trying to reach me. I was NOT let go because of the Occupy Oceanside event. Any other claims to the contrary is personally defamatory. The truth is in the North County times article. I am a private citizen, please remove any personally defamatory attacks. I’d be happy to explain, I’m sure someone you know in Oceanside can give you my contact information.
TA,
So Rostra gave the tip to the North County Times and was not credited? I want to make sure I’m understanding this.
There’s another Krahel there at Occupy Oceanside — wonder if they’re related. From the OO press release:
“Everyone I know is of the 99%,” said 24-year old Travis Krahel, a citizen of Oceanside, “I am a tax-paying electrician and I’m tired of working people getting hurt and being blamed for the economic collapse caused by Wall Street gamblers.”
Hmmm. Electrician, which means an IBEW union member. When will the “
Middle Class TaxpayersUnions for Raising Taxes Association” get involved?Bradley:
We direct tweeted this post to @nctimes at 12:34 pm from @sandiegorostra, as a heads up, if NCT wanted to pursue the story. Several minutes later, the Online Content Producer for NCT started following @sandiegorostra on Twitter, clearly showing the tweet was seen. The NCT story went up a couple/few hours later.
Kyle:
We will ask Mr. Larkin about trying to contact you. But, there is nothing in the post that is defamatory. Nothing is stated but facts and some conjecture about the reason for your dismissal. That part is left open-ended. We appreciate your comment of clarity.
Mr. Krahel-Frolander:
Thank you for commenting. The City of Oceanside would not provide your phone number, which is understandable, nor apparently try to get a message to you. You have since made it clear the Occupy event is not connected with your dismissal, in both the North County Times and U-T. That is appreciated. For the record, I did not indicate it as such.
UT story…

Harvard — producing the best and the brightest.
Questions for Kyle:
While you were working for Deputy Mayor Esther Sanchez you were involved in: (a) organizing petitions for the mobile home rent control referendum (b) organizing the Alliance of Citizens to Improve Oceanside Neighborhoods in order to promote the referendum and Esther’s re-election, (c) organizing the Occupy Oceanside rally, and (d) both Esther and you deny you were fired for organizing the rally, then:
1) Did Esther support your activities to organize the Occupy Oceanside rally?
2) Did any of your organizing time occur on City paid time?
3) Did you at any time accept or manage union or business (i.e. corporate) political contributions to fund your petition drive?
I’m looking forward to Kyle’s transparency on these issues to clarify his personal motivations.
This thread is rather amusing. This young man can do any darn thing he wants on his time off. Why beat this to death? You all do things outside your work as well. That’s called the 1st Amendment Freedom of Speech and Right to Assemble. You make much out of so little. Besides, Kyle did not organize the anti-tea party..several of us worked on that without him and the Occupy Oceanside was also developed by others. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Mandy:
We agree, Kyle has an unquestionable right to do things on his own time. He’s made it clear it was not on city time. He probably doesn’t need to justify such continued implications from commenters with an answer. Nuff said there.
The UT referred to him as the organizer of the anti-Tea Party rally. Either they made it up, or he told them he was. But, it’s moot.
The interest is not so much in Kyle, but in Esther Sanchez possibly distancing herself from his activities for political reasons and the ramifications of that. That isn’t necessarily little.
Thanks for commenting.
I see your point, but it did rather seem an attack on Kyle and not a cognitive thinking exercise on Sanchez.
