Cox and Horn Join Colleagues, Cite Dumanis’ Strong Leadership as District Attorney

SAN DIEGO – District Attorney and San Diego Mayoral candidate Bonnie Dumanis was endorsed today by San Diego County Supervisors Greg Cox and Bill Horn, making the Board of Supervisors’ support of her Mayoral campaign unanimous. In announcing their formal endorsements, Cox and Horn both cited Dumanis’ track record of executive leadership in the District Attorney’s Office. Dumanis has already been endorsed by Supervisors Dianne Jacob, Ron Roberts, and Pam Slater-Price.

“Bonnie Dumanis was elected by the people of San Diego to guarantee accountability and credibility at the District Attorney’s Office. She’s done that and so much more the past nine years,” said Supervisor Cox. “She’s protected public safety by making tough decisions and embracing innovation. She’s the only Mayoral candidate with the right kind of chief executive experience to change the culture at City Hall, bring more jobs to San Diego and fix city schools.”

DA Dumanis and Supervisor Cox’s office have coordinated on several public safety initiatives, including supporting the innovative Graffiti Tracker program and strengthening a county ordinance against designer drugs. Supervisor Horn worked with Dumanis to fight gang crime and prosecute agricultural-related theft.

“Bonnie is tough and holds people accountable, but her leadership style also brings people to the table to get things done,” said Supervisor Horn. “Under her strong leadership, the DA’s North County branch office has responded to the public safety challenges that are specific to my district, including reducing gang-related crime through the innovative use of civil injunctions. Bonnie will take what’s working at the County, including an effective management system, and make her experience work for the City of San Diego.”

“I’m honored to receive the endorsements of the entire Board of Supervisors. As Mayor, the relationships I’ve built at the County level over the past decade will benefit San Diego by creating an even stronger regional partnership leading to more jobs and a more powerful voice at the state and national level,” said Dumanis.

  1. Of course Cox endorsed you Bonnie, you dropped a grand jury investigation on the head of his wife’s chief political opponent down in CV right in the middle of his campaign against Mrs. Cox. Seriously, an endorsement is the least Mr. Cox could do.
