  1. Talk about cases of ICYMI., I’m a bit surprised Carl hasn’t posted his 4:54 minute interview here with Bill O’Reilly from last week. So here it is at: http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/oreilly/2014/05/15/dirty-politics.

The interview goes well up until 3 plus minutes into it and then it appears DeMaio is caught trying to play and have both sides of the gay marriage issue as is cogently pointed out by Bill O’Reilly. A pox on that Bill O’Reilly fellow. How dare he points out that the will of the people was heard loud and clear when voting in favor of Prop 8.

Granted this is but a snippet in the campaign but I do find it interesting that Carl is playing the game of selective journalism. That is, post everything favorable to you and totally ignore all the rest. You go Carl. Continue to think you are really bamboozling everyone within the Rostra echo chamber not to mention the voters. Well, not all the informed voters knowledgeable about all your goings on and shenanigans thru successive election cycles.

  2. Two weeks from tomorrow and we’ll get to watch Jorgensen and Simon both score single digits. I’m so ready to be done with this primary.

  3. If so, .. in November, we will watch DeMaio lose yet key another race, his political career in the sh*tter, the RPSDC chock another big race in the “lose” column, and Peters goes back to Washington…

I’m so ready to reconstitute the GOP..

  4. The vast amount of crossover votes form DTS and D’s are going to outpace the Karen Grube/FF types that vow to leave the GOP.

  5. Crossover votes? If whatever it is you’re smoking already caused you to forget that DeMaio couldn’t beat out a boob like Filner, then i want some. Also, look up past WaPo 40 under 40 lists. They now mostly read as an obituary column. Im surprised Clay Aiken didn’t make this year’s cut.

  6. D. Morton – DeMaio beat Filner in CA-52 by 16 points.

I’m not sure what you’re smoking, but it must have caused you to forget that the City of San Diego with 80% turnout and three Congressional Districts is a lot different than…CA-52 which is only City of San Diego North of the 8 plus Downtown, Coronado and Poway.

What you were smoking must have also caused you to forget that in the CA-52 District portion in the Mayor’s race, DeMaio killed Filner by 16%.

    D. Morton – do less smoking, and more research….

  7. Peters is not Filner. Likewise, as you point out, CA-52 is not the whole city. Filners results in CA-52 were reduced by his strategic focus on messaging meant to appeal to other parts of the city. Peters has no such handicap. Therefore your numbers are helpful, but not as totally relevant as you seem to think the are. Id even speculate that Peters would have also beat pre-scandal Filner head-to-head in CA-52.

    Put your “research” into perspective

  8. Peters is not Filner, correct. Which is why Carl will win, because Carl has higher name recognition than Peters.

  9. Well then, I guess we can all go home then. Nothing here to see. No election, Carl DeMaio is the next congress member from CA-52. He has already discussed with Cantor jumping some seniority spots to he can get an office in Rayburn instead of Cannon. Price and Scalise didn’t like the plan, but then realized that DeMaio’s ascent is through divine providence. Boehner cried tears of joy.

  10. “Peters is not Filner.”

True and he’s done everything he can to distance himself from Filner. A good number of Dems and DTS voters voted for Carl over Filner but won’t against Peters. A lot of them voted for Sherry Lightner, Dave Roberts, and Barack Obama.

These are the people who will decide who represents CD-52
