Assemblyman and former Mayor of Chino Hills Curt Hagman today announced he has endorsed Nathan Fletcher for mayor of San Diego. Hagman serves on the Assembly Public Safety committee and serves as the Republican Floor Leader.
“Nathan is the best choice to lead San Diego into a new era and turn the page on a tough decade,” said Hagman. “As a former mayor and as someone who has a passion for law enforcement, I know first-hand what it takes to lead a city. Nathan’s ability to bring everyone to the table and get things done makes him the right choice for mayor. I’ve watched the way he’s made the impossible possible in Sacramento, and know he will do the same in San Diego.”
Hagman is a founding member of the Community Volunteers Assisting Law Enforcement and has served as Chairman since its inception in 1998. This organization consists of citizen volunteers from 50 Police/Sheriff Departments who meet on a quarterly basis for training and informational meetings. Over the years, he has volunteered for the San Bernardino County Sheriff in a number of positions and was named its Volunteer of the Year in 1999. He is a benefactor to the Explorers, Reserves, Citizens Patrol, and other station activities.
“Nathan’s work on Chelsea’s Law was incredible,” added Hagman. “As a member of the Public Safety Committee, I was honored to work with him to pass true reform and to keep our families safe. There is no other member of the legislature who could have built the coalition necessary to get it done.”
