City Attorney candidate needs a good writer…

The list of 2016 city attorney candidates in San Diego so far includes Gil Cabrera, Rafael Castellanos, Mara Elliott and Robert Hickey.

It’s not too early to take a look at what they’re saying about themselves.

Which one needs a solid writer? My initial looksee says it’s Elliott, who declares on her Facebook page:

“I’m running for City Attorney to put my proven experience to work as an effective independent City Attorney…”

Yep, I get that she’s running for City Attorney so she can work as City Attorney. Twice.

As well:

“Since announcing my campaign for City Attorney, it’s been a whirlwind of activity working to build my campaign.”

Got it, the campaign thing. Announcing the campaign, then building the campaign. Doubly.

I may be a language nazi (lower case), but the use of the same noun twice in one sentence is just really annoying.

You may think this is petty, but where else but Rostra can we have this kind of fun?

  1. Ok, #newtointernet…

Seriously, is candidate Hickey saying he’s new to Twitter, new to having a webpage, or new to actually using the Internet?

If it’s the latter of the three, it must have been nice to sleep through that whole Y2K thing.
