Was Chad Mayes Blackmailed To Vote for Cap and Trade?

Five days ago, Republican Assembly Leader Chad Mayes was against a Cap and Trade extension. He ultimately voted FOR it and whipped enough Republican votes to give vulnerable Democrats cover. You gotta ask yourself, why would he do this when…

(a) …he was against it in principle?
(b) …he is the Republican Caucus leader.

Making Democratic Assembly members vote for bad legislation can lead to an increase in Republican Assembly members?

Was this just a warning shot?

  1. My guess and experience from others falling to the same shortcomings, yes his arm was badly twisted.
