Californians, Are You in an Abusive Relationship with Gavin Newsom?

Today I want to speak to the people who have been abused in this state.

I have a little quiz for you, please let me know if this reminds you of anyone…

1. The abuser isolates the victim from friends and family
2. The abuser prevents you from going to work or school
3. He says his controlling behavior is just out of concern for the victim
4. The abuser is demanding about what you wear in public
5. There are threats of punishment for not submitting to his irrational demands

If any Californian answered YES to any of the above, he’s not your man; you are in a BAD relationship with Gavin Newsom!

Newsom has been compared to The Joker, a tyrant, a game show host, and an out-of-control king drunk on his misuse and abuse of state of emergency powers.

Here in California where every day Governor Newsom looks more and more like a parody of a Bond villain, we have suffered the worst loss of civil liberties in my lifetime!

In the past 16 months under King Newsom’s one-man rule:

He used his emergency powers to put us under nightly curfew. Apparently, COVID gets you after 10 p.m. but not before?

Newsom bowed down to the unions and locked up our kids and put them in front of screens. Fifty percent of California students still do not have the option for in-person school!

He closed California beaches and many of his followers beach-shamed people by saying, “Don’t go to the beach, you’ll kill yourself!!”

Meanwhile, Newsom was developing a creepy obsession with masks. He Tweeted 27 times…

Don’t be selfish wear a mask.

then again…

Be KIND wear a mask

and…

Be SMART wear a mask

Mask is a sign of TOUGHNESS.

Do your PART Wear your mask.

Then NEWSOM tweeted 17 different times in ALL CAPS
WEAR A MASK
WEAR YOUR MASK
WEAR.A.MASK.

Going to a restaurant? Wear a mask in between bites.

And the winner for the lamest tweet by a Governor goes to… Newsom, for this…

Then of course, as you know, Newsom was caught at the French Laundry, not wearing a mask!

According to Yelp, 60 percent of businesses are now gone forever!

But Gavin Newsom made Hollywood an ESSENTIAL business.

Now Hollywood is giving Newsom millions of dollars to fight the recall.

Newsom “closed churches, told people not to sing Christmas Carols!” with his public health decree for the holidays…

“Singing is discouraged, but if you MUST sing, you must wear a mask and sing below a standard speaking voice.”

Newsom canceled Thanksgiving and Christmas.

California, it’s time to get out of this bad relationship with Gavin Newsom. Let’s send the abuser packing…

  1. You might not know the difference between a domestic partner trying to save you from being killed and a domestic partner trying to kill you….
It’s offensive to people, “men and women,” who have been in abusive relationships. If a whole state’s safety was in your hands and you knew people could die and have died, what would you do?
Victims of domestic violence are told to have a “safe plan” and a protective order (like a mask) that they have to carry around with them “everywhere they go” in case they ever “run into” the abuser…..get it?
hand sanitizer, a mask and public gatherings….my goodness… so hard to deal with. I’m sure millions of women and men and children who are abused would much rather have that safety kit then a restraining order and having to know where the nearest police station is every time they leave their house in case the “abuser/person” is around them or following them….like a virus….

  2. Hi Annette,

    You know what is offensive?

    Defending an abuser.

You know what is even worse than that?

    Demeaning victims of abuse.

    You did both.

I hear your type of comments from people who never missed a paycheck, binge-watched Netflix, and binge-ate food that other people delivered to their doorsteps.

Here in San Diego extended lockdowns caused SENSELESS deaths of despair.

Here are the overdose deaths directly from the County of San Diego that the county correlates to the lockdowns:

“A COVID-19 related spike in overdose deaths in San Diego County has fueled a behavioral health crisis. In 2020, the County reported 457 fentanyl-related overdose deaths.
This is a 202% increase in one year, from 151 recorded deaths in 2019.”

Sheriffs Deputies saw battered women who were locked down with abusive husbands, a law enforcement source said domestic violence tripled because of the extended lockdowns!

At Rady’s Children’s Hospital, our own District Attorney Summer Stephan sent 3 letters to Gavin Newsom pleading with him that the extended lockdowns were causing an 85% increase in child abuse cases.

Normally Pediatricians see 5 children a month needing specialized emergency care for suicidal thoughts and actions and lockdowns made that number jump to 28 children a month!

There was no need for lockdowns past August of 2020. Gavin Newsom knew this and caused more death and more despair than open states.

  3. Amy,

It is so easy for us to type critical words on a keyboard since neither of us has ever been tasked with the responsibility of protecting the lives and welfare of millions of people. That is not a defense of Gavin Newsom, just a statement of the fact that he had to make some very difficult decisions. And since it is impossible to disprove a negative, we will never know for sure what the death and long-term health toll would have been had the state completely opened in August as you suggested. We can, however, look at two numbers from https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

COVID deaths per million in California – 1,612
COVID deaths per million in South Dakota (perhaps the most “open” state in the country) – 2,304

Again, we will never know for sure, but these numbers at least hint that we may have had 27,000 additional deaths (not to mention countless more people with long-term health issues) had Kristi Noem been our governor rather than Gavin Newsom.
