SACRAMENTO – Assemblyman Brian Jones (R-Santee) responds to Governor Brown signing Assembly Bill 154, legislation that will permit nurse practitioners, certified nurse-midwife or physician assistants to perform abortions.
“Permitting nurse practitioners, certified nurse-midwife or physician assistants to perform abortions is dangerous for women and has nothing to do with ‘women’s health’. It’s truly disheartening and disingenuous that Governor Brown and Legislative Democrats created a law to lower the standard of care for the women under the guise of creating ‘access’.”
Assemblyman Brian Jones represents the 71st Assembly District, which includes the communities of eastern San Diego County, including Alpine, Borrego Springs, Casa de Oro – Mount Helix, El Cajon, Lakeside, Ramona, Rancho San Diego, Santee and Spring Valley; and southern Riverside County, including Anza, Aguanga, Idyllwild-Pine Cove, Lake Riverside and Mountain Center.
