Sacramento over-reaching on your local water agencies,
“Are You Kidding Me?”
SACRAMENTO, CA – Assemblyman Jones (R-Santee) today highlights the importance of local control for water agencies after a Sacramento Bee article detailed a budget plan by Governor Brown and Democratic leadership to allow the State Water Board to consolidate water agencies without any public input.
“A budget trailer bill is not the correct way to consolidate water agencies,” said Jones. “The Governor, Democratic leaders, and environmental activists are taking advantage of the water shortage they created to undo, by the stroke of a pen, 165 years of water laws and private property rights. Instead of using the drought as an excuse to circumvent the legislative process, let’s use the emergency drought funds and water bond money to create more water storage, which will bring water to all Californians.”
