SACRAMENTO, CA – Assemblyman Jones (R-Santee) today released an “Are You Kidding Me?” segment discrediting the Democrat’s environmental agenda. In light of recent news that Governor Brown will sign SB 350, which will require California to get 50 percent of its power from renewable sources by 2030, Assemblyman Jones is disappointed that small scale solar will not count towards the 50 percent goal.
“All renewable resources should count toward reaching the 50 percent goal,” said Jones. “We should not be excluding the 200,000 Californians who are doing their part to make clean energy a reality. Solar energy is renewable energy; it’s time Sacramento politicians stop choosing winners and losers.”

Well that was a big– though hardly surprising– let down. The real question: why are conservatives onboard with this preposterous renewable energy goal at all? Why aren’t they telling their constituents the truth about the wasteful, destructive futility of “renewable” energy?
Wow, what a disappointment.
Because the real issue here isn’t which forms of renewable energy do or don’t count toward fulfilling the Governor’s ludicrous mandate, it’s why co-called conservatives like Jones are playing along with his silly game at all.
Why isn’t Jones telling his constituents the truth? Why isn’t he telling them that nothing that we in the industrialized first world nations of the world do will make the slightest difference in the total output of greenhouse emissions; that all of our incredibly expensive and environmentally destructive plans are little more than politically fashionable window dressing–expensive and environmentally devastating–and, therefore, ultimately, all for naught?
THAT is the proper conservative response to this insanity. NOT kowtowing to it and cynically exploiting it a’la Rick Perry.
