SACRAMENTO, CA – Assemblyman Jones (R-Santee) points to the latest headlines relating to California’s failed prison “realignment”, implemented by Governor Brown and the Democrat majority in 2011. This law shifted lower level offenders from state prisons to county jails, but failed to provide the county probation offices with the means to manage the influx of new inmates. In Los Angeles County alone, nearly 2,000 criminals slipped through the cracks after not complying with their probation obligations. Jones said, “Instead of minimizing crimes and letting prisoners go free, why not work to maintain the law abiding citizen’s safety?”
