from Louis Russo
Day two at the convention confirmed Trump as the nominee. The California delegation, at 172, constituted 1/7th of the total delegates he needed.
Observations:
Paul Ryan’s reception was generally polite, but cool. Most delegates are not fond of him but withheld boos, though there were a few. Boos were reserved for the Colorado delegation, who’ve managed to garner the ire of most, especially our delegates. The feeling is it is time to pull together.
Chris Christie was the hands down highlight of the night and most appear to want him to appear in a Trump administration.
Not sure you heard it, but the “Lock her up” chant originated with our delegates.
Ben Carson has untold amounts of respect and affection from the delegates.
A couple of notes again:
CA delegation dominating the floor. People appear to click and leadership of CA delegates actually leading. Our numbers and seating location enable us to call the shots on everything from floor votes to expression.
Trump Jr impressive and may have future in politics (Republican John Boy Kennedy?).
Tidbits:
Out of Cleveland law enforcement being billeted at Case Western Reserve University dorms. Someone fired a single bullet into one of their parked buses at 1:30 a.m. this morning, no injuries.
Six of the CA delegation support staff have novo virus. County Health here believes they brought it from CA. No delegates affected.

‘The lock her up chant originated with our delegates.”
Thank you for trying to remove destructive rancor from the political process.
Sarcasm app now turned off.
Please notice that Sanders delegates also chanted “Lock her up” yesterday. Perhaps the CA delegation to the RNC have started a trend.
