Gitsham fails to respond to debate request from Atkinson

From Jacquie Atkinson

Last week I mailed a letter to the Denise Gitsham for Congress campaign headquarters asking for a series of 10 debates leading up to the primary vote in June. Gitsham has refused to respond.

I believe the voters of the 52nd Congressional District deserve these debates. Having open and honest communication on where candidates stand on issues is the bedrock of our democracy. From the 2nd Amendment to foreign relations and the rise of ISIS, the voters of San Diego should know where we stand.

Denise has highlighted her year spent working in the Bush administration time and time again as her qualification to run for office. I have yet to hear what she actually stands for – or what real world experience outside of politics that leads her to believe she will do any better than the failed administration we currently have running this country. I’m a political outsider – I’m here to shake things up and deliver some commonsense and actual experience to Washington.

The series of debates would take place across the district, leading up to the primary election on June 7. The debates would be moderated by a neutral party and would focus on issues important to Americans today – defense, foreign policy, immigration, jobs and the economy.

Let’s give the voters of the 52nd Congressional District a chance to hear where we stand.

  1. Both candidates agreed to a debate on March 17th, at the Del Mar Country Club, from 6 PM until 8 PM. I will post a link where people can purchase tickets for the event .

UPDATED: Reserve tickets for the debate at http://www.SanDiegoDebate.com

The debate is sponsored by the Del Mar Seacoast Republican women Federated and the date was agreed upon last year.

  2. Well done! This is a nice change of precedent- The RPSDC and all the sycophantic backers of CD, to include conservative poser, Roger Hedgecock, outright refused to sponsor or even entertain any debates with KJ during the 2014 52CD race.

  3. Wondering which will redistribute more money from our families to government, from the private to the public sector, to maintain a global military presence and a continued government income stream to our military contractors as foreign nations respond to our intervention with blowback. Going to need some help on this one.
