“Carl DeMaio has the right management skills and collaborative leadership style to bring people together to solve problems.”
Stressing the importance of keeping San Diego on the path of fiscal and economic recovery, Mayor Jerry Sanders today endorsed Carl DeMaio to be San Diego’s next Mayor.
“Carl DeMaio has the right management skills and collaborative leadership style to bring people together to solve problems,” said Mayor Sanders.
“After seven years in the job, I can confidently say Carl DeMaio reflects the qualities we need in a good Mayor: he listens to diverse viewpoints, draws on ideas from all sides of an issue, and he works to build consensus,” said Sanders.
Sanders and DeMaio both pointed to their collaboration on the year-long campaign to pass the landmark Prop B Pension Reform Initiative that allowed them to build a solid relationship.
“I am deeply honored to have the support and confidence of Mayor Sanders – who I am confident will go down as one of San Diego’s most successful Mayors,” said DeMaio. “Mayor Sanders took the helm at a point of extreme crisis and thanks to his leadership we are now on the rebound,” DeMaio said.
DeMaio noted that he will continue to seek the counsel and advice of Mayor Sanders in his Administration.
“I intend to continue Mayor Sanders’ bipartisan approach to leading our city,” DeMaio said. “There is no Democrat or Republican way to fill a pothole or respond to a 911 call – and as Mayor I intend to draw on the best ideas from all sides to solve problems and move our city forward,” said DeMaio.
Since the Primary election, DeMaio’s campaign has seen an overwhelming support from across the political spectrum – reflecting support for DeMaio’s vision of fiscal reform and economic prosperity.
