UNPRECEDENTED WIN SIGNALS REJECTION OF OBAMA ADMINISTRATION’S “BIG GOVERNMENT” VISION OF AMERICA
SAN DIEGO, January 19 — Recognizing the historic significance of the special election in Massachusetts, local San Diego Republicans today mounted a massive high-tech phone bank at party headquarters in support of Republican Scott Brown and gathered to watch the election results come in. San Diego Republican Party Chairman Tony Krvaric this evening issued the following statement:
“It’s official – the Republican Party is back. In Massachusetts, Virginia, and New Jersey voters have said they want a different direction than the one being offered by Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
“The change Democrats have offered since taking control in Washington is not the change Americans expected in 2008. Skyrocketing debt, growing unemployment, higher taxes, and more government control of our lives constitute change we can all do without.
“By insisting on a hard left governing agenda instead of a centrist one, Barack Obama and the Democrats squandered the opportunity to get the economy on track with pro-growth economic policies. By insisting on putting big government in charge, they passed up the opportunity to fix the specific failures of our health system.
“My question for the Democrats going forward is whether they will finally start listening to the American people, who want taxes lowered, the debt retired, and government out of the way; or if they will continue to let the most radical elements of their party continue to determine the direction of the country. With Scott Brown’s election, the opportunity to do the later has just been cut short.

“Barbara Boxer can’t be too happy with tonight’s results. If Massachusetts can elect a Republican to the United States Senate in 2010, so can California.”
