Guiding Young Offenders through the Registration Process,
“Are You Kidding Me?”
SACRAMENTO, CA – On a strict party-line vote this week, the State Legislature passed a bill requiring Juvenile Detention Facilities to register young offenders to vote. In today’s “Are You Kidding Me?” segment, Assemblyman Jones (R-Santee) questions the intent of the bill and instead calls on the Legislature to provide an education system that compels youth to make their own decisions for their future. “Since 2012, eligible citizens of California have been able to register to vote online, making the registration process especially easy,” said Assemblyman Jones. “But this won’t change California’s woefully embarrassing turnout of only 25.1 percent this past June. Let’s be real – this is just another tactic for the liberals to move their progressive agenda forward. There are far better ways to serve our detained youth.”
