Here is a link to a document highlighting City Auditor Eduardo Luna’s street maintenance audit, which is scheduled to be heard at Monday’s Audit Committee Meeting (Feb 7 at 9 a.m.).

San Diego City Council President Pro Tem Kevin Faulconer, who chairs the Audit Committee, believes this is one of the most important audits conducted by the city auditor. Street repair was ranked as the No. 1 spending priority by San Diegans in a recent citizen survey.

The recommendations in the audit – city management has agreed to implement all 14 changes – should improve how the City manages its street repair operations. The recommendations are expected to create more efficiencies when it comes to fixing pot holes and repaving streets.

Following Monday’s public hearing, the Audit Committee is expected to forward the street maintenance audit to the City Council for its approval.
